Three Kids' Podcasts for a Smooth Bedtime Routine

One of our favorite times to use podcasts for kids is at bedtime – otherwise known as "let's get our kids to do the things they hate most in this world while running out of energy and patience." At the end of a long day, I don't know of a parent who doesn't need a little backup to keep things calm and enjoyable for everyone. Here are three kids' podcasts to help you out and get your kids ready for bed without a fight.

Brushy

If you're in a nightly battle over the toothbrush, this podcast is for you. The perfectly timed 2-minute podcast makes getting kids to brush their teeth a breeze. The episodes are adorable and will actually have your kids excited about this dreaded task.

Charm Words and Charm Words Espanol

Sometimes bedtime turns silly, and we need a quick way to change the mood and get kids to calm down. That's when we turn to an affirmation or meditation podcast for kids. "Charm Words" is never more than a few minutes long and is an easy way to reconnect with your child, teach them positive affirmations, breathe deeply together, and talk about any emotions they have had that day. It's that little moment of transition from putting on pajamas, brushing teeth, and tidying up that can make a world of difference – without having to summon the brain power to make it happen on your own.

Circle Round

There are so many great bedtime podcasts for kids, but this is the one my kids always ask for. Their voice, the music, the cadence of the stories… it’s just a magical recipe for sleepy kids (works in the car as well). We try to read with our kids every night, but when one story isn’t enough or when our anxious kid is having trouble falling asleep, we turn on a podcast.

Since KidsPod is with you wherever you go, it's the best app for kids' podcasts at bedtime. We usually play from our phones in the bathroom and then use a Bluetooth speaker in our kids' bedroom. Easy peasy! Be sure to check out the "Bedtime" and "Meditations/Affirmations" categories in the app for even more great podcasts. And good luck at your next bedtime! 😉
